Bacteria: Salmonella typhimurium (Typhus-Erreger) A cluster of bacteria. cause food poisoning in humans known as salmonellosis. Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacilli with hair-like flagellae used for motility. Salmonella produces enterotoxins, which act on the small intestine. Infection occurs by ingestion through contaminated food, such as meat, milk, chicken eggs. Salmonella food poisoning occurs with symptoms including vomiting, nausea, diarhoea. Controllable with antibiotic drugs.SEM-10.000x
