Candida albicans: Cause of human thrush. Rounded yeast-like spores in different sizes. Causes infection called Candiasis, affects moist mucous membranes of the body (skinfolds, mouth, vagina, respiratory tract). Infection may appear in persons receiving prolonged broad-spectrum antibiotics, diabetics. Genitally thrush is sexually transmitted. The infection may also appeare in persons receiving prolonged broad-spectrum antibiotics or in diabetics.
