Parasites: Trichinella spiralis. LM of a section through cysts cused by the worm Trichinella spiralis in pork muscle tissue. The pork muscle is stained blue. Several circular cysts are visible (dark blue, upper right, upper and lower left). Larvae are visible inside the cysts (purple). The cysts are being attacked by white blood cells (red). T.spiralis is a parasitic nematode worm. Human infection, usually caused by eating contamined pork, causes Trichinosis.
