Trichinella spiralis


Parasites: Trichinella spiralis. LM of a section through cysts cused by the worm Trichinella spiralis in pork muscle tissue. The pork muscle is shown grey. Two Trichinella cysts are visible, encapsuled by calcium (red staining). Larvae are visible inside the cysts (circular). T.spiralis is a parasitic nematode worm. Human infection, usually caused by eating contamined pork, causes Trichinosis.
