Injecting DNA into cell

Light micrograph of a number of animal cells undergoing microinjection, a technique of introducing foreign or increased amounts of DNA into the genetic make-up of a cell. The work is done through a light microscope and may be visualized on a VDU screen. The circular cell is stablized by a suction tube (left) while the fine probe on the right introduces the genetic material.
