Waves pass through a barrier. Concentric circles of waves emanate from two apertures in a barrier (black line, lower frame). They originate from parallel waves (at bottom) striking the barrier flat on. From each of the two point sources or apertures the waves spread forming semi-circles that fan out. An interference pattern can be seen when concentric circular waves strike and pass over each other.
