Calcite with quartz. Calcite, or calcspar, is a fluorescent mineral. Calcite is the basic component of marble, chalk, and limestone. Quartz is an extremely hard mineral composed of silica. This specimen, photographed under normal white light, was found in Dal'negorsk, Russia. Compare with 3P3864, photographed in UV light. Dimensions: 4 x 3 x 3.5 cm.
