Umm Qays, known as Gadara in ancient times, was one of the Decapolis cities. A nearby hot spring made Gadara a favorite spa in the Roman Empire. This image shows Gadara's acropolis, a colonaded Atrium, the octagon of a Byzantine Church and shops built into the terrace along a shopping mall.
